			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I sent my <a href="http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/">link </a>to the Shakeology site to some of my friends with digestive issues. I do not send stuff out unless I truly believe in it and have personally tried it long enough to really give a review. So when I sent out my Shakeology site link, people knew I wasnt doing it in haste and that I was speaking from my heart. I had two friends that purchased it immediately. This is the email I just received from one of them, we will call her &#8220;S&#8221;. &#8220;S&#8221; has digestive issues and diabetes. Here is her email to me:</p>
<p>&#8220;Thank you!  I still have not ordered the greenberry but will soon.  I am leaving for Maryland and things have been crazy.  But I will definitely let you know how it is.  I&#8217;m going to have it shipped to my friend&#8217;s house while I&#8217;m there.  She wants to try it also since she has severe digestive issues.  I LOVE the stuff!  I feel sooo good lately! <p>It is known as a powerful anti-inflammatory herb and immune boosting agent. As a versatile herb, there are so many uses for Ashwagandha and every single one of them will benefit you! Love it! </p>
<p>I will say that since using Shakeology, I personally feel the clarity and see the reduction in stress. Whether it is from this alone or a combo of several of the ingredients, I feel better and I feel more quick to respond to things. I used to feel like my preggo brain never left after my second child and I can see that gradually reducing as I continue with this program. Bring on the brain power!</p>

What a great recipe to make for dinner. I have tweaked this to be IBD friendly but will post the original at the bottom for those that can tolerate the stuff many of us can not.  This would be a fabulous dinner after a shake for lunch. Here&#8217;s to better health! Eat up!</p>

<p>Grilled Tuna with Quinoa</p>
<p>2 cups water<br />
3 Tbsp. olive oil<br />
4 6-oz. albacore tuna steaks (1 inch thick)<br />
1 cup uncooked quinoa, rinsed well<br />
Juice of 1 lime<br />
1/3 cup orange juice (pulp free)<br />
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro<br />
Salt (to taste)<br />
Medium saucepan<br />
Shallow bowl or casserole dish</p>
<p>Preheat broiler or grill. Put water on to boil in medium saucepan. While water is boiling, place olive oil in shallow bowl or casserole dish. Coat tuna steaks in oil, season with salt and pepper, then cover dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. When water is boiling, add quinoa to pan and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until water is absorbed. While quinoa is cooking, grill fish approximately 7 minutes and drizzle with lime juice. Remove quinoa from heat and add orange juice and cilantro; mix well. (Makes 4 servings.)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Never really studied the Glycemic Index? Me either. Not until I received an email today explaining what it is and what foods place where.  The Glycemic Index is a way of measuring how carbs react in your blood. When you eat carbs, your blood sugar levels rise anywhere from a little bit to a lot. The Glycemic Index is a scale to measure this reaction between 0 to 100. The higher the number means that food causes the most rapid rise in blood sugar. </p>
<p>Examples:</p>

<p>Foods above 70 are white breads, pretzels, french fries, and most processed foods. </p>
<p>Foods in the middle range of 50-60&#8242;s are pineapple, white rice, sweet potatoes, beets, etc.</p>
<p>Low range includes those under 55 and are: broccoli (only a 10), apples, oranges, and&#8230;..</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>To so many people I look normal. To so many people, I look healthy.  They cant possibly see my insides and see the war going on in there. I dont hold it against them. How could I?  Instead, I find humor in the comments and I find humbleness in the lessons. </p>
<p>The humor comes in these comments:</p>
<p>1. &#8220;Are you losing weight? What diet are you on because I want to try it!&#8221;<br />
2. &#8220;Are you taking a new supplement because you look so good&#8221; (this was in that first magical week on steroids before the hell came)<br />
3. &#8220;You don&#8217;t look sick&#8221;<br />
4. &#8220;You have Crohn&#8217;s, My sister has IBS too.&#8221;  (Crohn&#8217;s is not IBS)<br />
5. &#8220;There is no way that you have an illness. You wouldnt be able to do all that you do&#8221;  </p>

<p>There are more but I would love to hear yours! </p>
<p>The lessons I learn along the way:</p>
<p>1. Let the people in a hurry to use the restroom go in front of you!<br />
2. Do not anger when people are in the bathroom stall a long time.<br />
3. Think before I speak<br />
4. People all have their own battles to fight and all I can do is offer to help them. They may or may not want it but it is their choice and I can not force things.<br />
5. Ignorance is everywhere and I can not control or contain it<br />
6. Educate those around you because you can not begrudge them for what they do not know!<br />
7. Mind over Matter. </p>
<p>So many more lessons. I learn them daily. </p>
<p>Inspire&#8230;support&#8230;learn&#8230;grow&#8230;be kind&#8230;heal!</p>

<p>Less then 3 minute prep time for lunch yesterday! Love it!  It was surprisingly, really good. I am not a blueberry fan at all but I can see why peple eat chocolate covered blueberries. Pretty darn tasty. I think I will make it again soon. Today, I am going to put strawberry yogurt in there! YUMMMMMMMM! </p>

Why would these medicine companies find us IBDers a cure because if they did, they would go broke? A Remicade infusion is upwards of $5000 an infusion. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have a question, one that I asked myself a couple of years ago.  It is controversial. It is thought provoking and it will make you wonder. </p>

<p>Why would these medicine companies find us IBDers a cure because if they did, they would go broke?  </p>
<p>A Remicade infusion is upwards of $5000 an infusion. Humira is over $1000 an injection. Imuran and 6MP can cost some people $300-$400 a month. Now, why on earth would you find a cure for people taking these medicines? If they didnt need the medicines anymore, the companies would be done. So, my question is&#8230;do you really believe that they are searching for a cure? </p>
<p>The medicines that are currently available are band aids. They do not treat the disease, they treat the symptoms. </p>
<p>I am not saying stop the meds. If they are working for you that is fantastic. I am simply saying they didnt work for me. That is why I am constantly searching for other ways to heal myself. With supplements and drinks like Shakeology, I am doing that. </p>
<p>They say that going on a liquid diet for two weeks is the same as going on a round of Prednisone. Why would I ever want to take Prednisone when I could drink yummy shakes and liquids? </p>
<p>Food for thought.</p>
